New Guardhouse
This building is remarkable for many reasons. First it was built in the beginning of the 19th century and since then it didn’t change a lot. However its renovation lasted more than 5 years from 1987. Born at the times of German Monarchy it was dedicated to needs of royal guards. In the beginning of 20th century, ironically not a long time before the 2nd World War it became a memorial dedicated to victims of wars. In 1993 it got even more meaningful . Since then it is - "Central Memorial of the Federal Republic of Germany for the Victims of War and Tyranny". The entrance is free and inside you will find an interesting sculpture and useful information.
