Marienplatz
You can’t say that you’ve been in Munich if you haven’t been at Marienplatz – the central square of this majestic city. Of course like hundreds of main squares of other big cities with rich historical past this one has classical features – souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants, fancy stores and a couple of monuments. But in the same time Marienplatz has unique things you would never meet anywhere in the world. It is the place where Old Town Hall meets the new one and both are too beautiful to be true. Here an old clock tower strikes every hour not just with a melody but with a dance of grotesque figures and each hour a crowd of tourists, merry children and curious adults stay below with heads up with cameras in their hands and curiosity in eyes... Of course we could tell more and more about this wonderful Munich highlight, but better go and experience its magic in real life.
